Präsidentinnenwechsel im Club Wuppertal / Change of our presidency

Joyce Ostermann und Doris Andernach-Schröder haben zum 1. Oktober 2019 ihr Ämter als neu gewählte Präsidentin bzw. Vizepräsidentin des Soroptimist Clubs Wuppertal übernommen. Die beiden Wirtschaftswissenschaftlerinnen sind langjährige Clubmitglieder und haben in der Vergangenheit bereits verschiedene Funktionen im Vorstand des Clubs ausgeübt. Ihre Motivation für ihr neues soroptimistisches Engagement: "Wir glauben, dass wir in der aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Umbruchsphase gerade auch als Frauenclub besonders wachsam und aktiv sein müssen, um die Veränderungsprozesse mitzugestalten. Wir engagieren uns vor allem auf lokaler Ebene hier in Wuppertal für die Interessen von Frauen, Kindern und Menschen, denen es nicht so gut geht. Als weltweite Organisation haben wir uns ebenfalls zum Ziel gesetzt,  unsere Verbindungen auf internationaler Ebene zu aktivieren und bauen zur Zeit einen Freundschaftslink zu dem japanischen Club in Nagoya auf."

Joyce Ostermann and Doris Andernach-Schröder took over their posts as newly elected President and Vice President of the Soroptimist Club Wuppertal on October 1, 2019 respectively. The two economists are longtime club members and have in the past already held various positions on the board of the club. Their motivation for their new soroptimistic commitment: "We believe that in the current period of social upheaval, especially as a women's club, we need to be particularly vigilant and active in shaping the processes of change. We are particularly committed to the interests of women, children, and people who are indigent, and as a global organization, we have also set ourselves the goal of activating our connections internationally and are currently building a friendship link to the Japanese club in Nagoya. "
